Make baklava
Preparing blissfully sweet baklava may look like a lot of effort, but all you need is a bit of know-how and a crowd standing by ready to eat the results!
Step 1:
Place sheets of filo pastry on a clean work surface. Cover with a clean tea towel and a damp tea towel (to prevent pastry drying out). Brush one pastry sheet with melted butter. Top with a second sheet. Brush with butter. Repeat layers to use one third of the filo sheets. Repeat with remaining sheets to make 3 filo stacks.
Step 2:
Place one filo stack in prepared pan. Top with half the nut mixture, spreading evenly. Top with second filo stack and remaining nut mixture, finishing with final pastry stack.
Step 3:
Using a small sharp knife, score the pastry into squares. Score each square diagonally. Once cooked and cooled, cut baklava using score lines as a guide.
