
Spiced chickpea dip with garlic bread
This recipe is vegan friendly.
Preparation Time 2 minutes
Cooking Time 10 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
* 400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
* 2 tsp ground cumin
* 1 small red chilli, seeded and thinly sliced
* 2 tbs lemon juice
* 4 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1/4 cup extra light olive oil
* 1 loaf Turkish bread
* Extra 2 tbs extra light olive oil
Method
1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Place chickpeas, cumin, chilli, lemon juice and half of the garlic into food processor bowl. Process for 20 seconds. Add oil and process until combined.
2. Cut bread into 2cm slices. Combine extra oil and remaining garlic in a small bowl. Brush both sides of the bread with the olive oil mixture.
3. Place onto a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes or until crisp. Serve with dip.
Notes & tips
* Try this: For a great smoky flavour, toast the Turkish bread on the barbie.
